Official Holidays 2027 Indonesia
Indonesia has announced its official 2027 calendar of public holidays and collective leave days. The calendar follows a Joint Decree signed by three ministers: Religious Affairs, Manpower, and State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform. These are decree numbers 1205/2026, 3/2026, and 2/2026.
Overall, 2027 has 18 national public holidays and 8 collective leave days. Among them is Nyepi, Bali’s Day of Silence, on 8 March 2027, when the whole island stands still. It is also a public holiday across the country.
Bali has its own additional holy days, Galungan and Kuningan, which are observed only on the island. Many Balinese businesses close for both, so it pays to plan ahead if you’re visiting or dining out. Galungan is celebrated over several days. Penyajaan Galungan falls two days before the main day, followed by Penampahan Galungan the day before. Many Balinese also treat the day after, Manis Galungan, as a holiday.
Kuningan comes ten days after Galungan, and the day before it, Penampahan Kuningan, is usually kept as part of the celebration. Both festivals occur twice in 2027.
